Elianne’s top 10 reasons why dragons shifters make the best mates! There’s just something about a dragon shifter romance that melts my heart. From the time I was a little girl, I dreamt of princesses and castles, and of course, fire breathing dragons. Now that I’m all grown up, the dragons in my dreams do more than just breathe fire, and defeat the enemy. A whole lot more. Here’s my top 10 list of why I think dragons shifters make the best mates! When I’m immersed in a dragon shifter romance, I can’t help but be drawn into the magical realm where anything, and everything can happen. Who doesn’t want a bit of magic in their lives? 2. Dragons are known for their love of jewels, and riches. Your dragon shifter mate would shower you with baubles and beautiful trinkets for no reason at all. Who wouldn’t love that? 3. What a dragon shifter wants, a dragon shifter gets. Their determination is legendary. If a dragon shifter sets his eyes on you, you can bet he’s going to do everything in his power to convince you to be his. 4. You can’t think of a dragon without thinking of its size and strength. You’d never be bothered by sleazy come-ons or rudeness from anyone with a big, strong dragon at your side. Let’s face it, regular men would quake in their boots if your dragon so much as glared at them. 5. Yes, after mentioning their size, I’m totally going there. […]

Interview with author Decadent Kane!   I had the pleasure of interviewing, Decadent Kane, author of The Trouble with Elves, and Impure series. Having read Ribbon of Darkness, I look forward to reading more! If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Decadent, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Decadent. Tell us a little about yourself. I am both an editor and an author. I love crafts and creating new things either in writing, clay, or whatever I come across that I find interesting. Only I don’t sew. Give me a thing of E600 glue and I’m solid, but don’t give me a needle and thread. I also can’t cook worth a damn. LOL I tried to make package cookies once because my best friend said I shouldn’t buy store bought dough or made cookies. So she handed me this bag of cookie mix where I’m supposed to add the eggs and butter and oil. Sure that seems simple enough…yeah…not so much. Somehow I ended up adding things- just like the package told me- but it didn’t come out like cookie dough. Instead, I had a crumbly mess I couldn’t even make into a ball and I called my best friend… “Step away from the cookie dough,” she said. I looked down […]

Alien Kisses and Holiday Wishes by Crystal Dawn 1
I love boxed sets. Even though many sets have a story or two that  just aren’t “my thing”, I usually do find some new authors to add to my favorites. Here’s an article written by author Crystal Dawn that talks about just that. Why Do We Love Boxed Sets? Boxed sets, I didn’t discover them right away, not as a reader or as an author. I began to notice them and they seemed like such a good deal I was wary of them. When I finally decided to buy one, I thought it was wonderful. I liked every story, that is not common, but that was my first experience. Since then I have gotten many boxed sets at a variety of prices with a different number of stories but they have all been a great deal. Why do authors sell or even give away such wonderful sets? There are several reasons one being to reward their loyal readers. Another of course is to find new readers. It also gives authors a chance to work with other authors, publishers and people in the industry they might not know or don’t know well. It can be a good experience for a group of authors to work together. I know I have met authors I read and loved it. It can be networking at it’s finest. Right now I have several boxed sets out or coming out that I know my readers will love in both Paranormal and Sci fi romance. Alien Kisses […]

tasha black picture
I had the great pleasure of interviewing a great Paranormal Romance Author today. Welcome Tasha Black, author of the Tarker’s Hollow, and Building a Hero series. I have yet to read anything from the Building a Hero series, but if they’re anywhere as good as the Tarker’s Hollow books, I know I’m going to love them. If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Tasha, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Tasha. Tell us a little about yourself – your education Family life, etc.   I studied theater in college and was an actress for several years. When I got tired of the lifestyle (small NYC apartment, living on a tour bus half the year) I decided to try something new! I’m married to an incredible man who helps me with my writing and promotion. We’re lucky to live close to friends and family as well. We live in a big old house and we’re constantly throwing parties! When did you first consider yourself a writer? I didn’t feel like a real writer until the first book sold. I made a bet with my husband that Curse of the Alpha would not sell ten copies by Christmas. (We released it in August.) I very, very happy to lose that bet! Curse has now […]

What the Shift? How does one become a werewolf. This is a great little article written by PNR Author Eva Gordon that I thought I’d share with you all. You can check this one, and many others out on her blog.   What the shift? How does one become a werewolf. What the shift? How does one become a werewolf. I am often asked to do wolf lore and werewolf lore lectures for writer and library groups, so I’m familiar with many different types of werewolf lore. There are many werewolf paranormal romance and werewolf horror novels, yet because there are so many ways to tell the tale/tail (couldn’t resist the pun) we need not worry about reading the same story. I have separate series with a different werewolf universe. In werewolf lore for example there are so many different ways to become a werewolf. Because we all know Here are a few ways on how werewolves are made: Water Hole:  Drinking water from certain ponds and or drinking water from a puddle wolf print. Not for the germaphobic types. Curse: An ill-fated man could become victim of witchcraft or fall under curse of evil spirits. The person then would involuntary turn into werewolf. Logan, in The Stone of the Tenth Realm was cursed this way. Bitten by Werewolf: Another common believe was that any one could become one if saliva of a werewolf could find a way to bloodstream; might be from bite or scratch. This is the most common myth in Hollywood and always […]

Lashell Collins 2
Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Lashell Collins, author of the Paranormal Trilogy, Lunar Falls, as well as romantic suspense series, The Kelly Family, and the Rockstar romance series, Jagged Ivory! If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Lashell, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Lashell.   Tell us about yourself.   Haha! Well, that’s a really broad question! Let’s see, I’m sort of a geeky, quirky, laid back kind of girl. I’m married to a retired cop who acts as my technical consultant on all of my cop-related romantic suspense stories. Most notably, I take his old work stories and turn them into storylines for my ongoing Kelly Family series. If you haven’t read it, the Kelly Family is about a large family of police officers, and their journeys to true love and happiness. I get a lot of compliments from readers on how real the stories seem, and how well they seem to be researched, and that’s because I take advantage of my husband’s expertise  in the field of police work. I’m a bit of a science fiction nut. I’m a HUGE Star Trek fan. I love Star Wars. In fact, I’m one of those people who totally does not get the controversy over which one is better. To me, they […]

Interview with Author Lashell Collins

Melissa Snark posted this article on her blog, The Snarkology, and I just had to share it. Her funny insight on Werewolf clichés for paranormal romance are spot on. What do you think?   It seems inevitable that every author of paranormal fiction encounters certain subgenre stereotypes/tropes during their journey to craft an interesting tale. As an author of werewolf fantasy stories, I’m particularly familiar with those that pertain to wolf shifters and lycanthropes. Here are a few of my favorites: 1. Book title contains the words “Wolf”, “Alpha” or “Moon”. Yes, these words are inexorably linked in the public mind with werewolves so the use of these terms triggers immediate associations. Must authors bow before this stereotype? I guess it depends, especially on whether you can get your book to market fast enough to snatch up one of the few moon titles left that haven’t been wretchedly overused. (Glance left and you’ll see I’ve committed this one myself.)   2. Everyone knows that wolves don’t wear clothing, so your hero is (gasp!) naked after he returns to human. Yet, some authors and television directors don’t want to deal with the inconvenience, so clothing magically appears out of thin air. Personally, I regard this as a missed opportunity for conflict and laughs, and I definitely prefer scenarios where the storyteller addresses the issue.   3. Absolutely every werewolf/lycanthrope author seems to be compelled to crack the old vegetarian/vegan joke. It doesn’t stop with genre fiction. On the popular TV show, […]

Reach for the Sky by Gwen Knight
If you love shifters (and I know you do!), then check this article by Author Gwen Knight Shifter Luv out! You can find the original post, as well as other stuff to read at her website! Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh My! Shapeshifters as a whole are my favorite paranormal breed to write and read about. Part of the appeal is the range in animals with wolves, bears, and dragons seemingly being among the most popular. But what about others? Since I’ve begun publishing in the paranormal world, I’ve seen an assortment of shapeshifters: gorillas, mongooses, even sharks! The werewolves of this world no longer hold a monopoly! So this post today is to find out what your favorites are. I think werewolves will always maintain that special place in my heart, as seen by my latest publication Reach for the Sky.   But recently, thanks to authors like Jessie Donovan, R.E. Butler, and Ilona Andrews, I’ve begun expanding beyond the werewolf. There’s a big ‘ol world out there. For those who have read the first novel in my Wolffe Peak Series, you might note that I only included wolves. The future books, however, will delve a little deeper. Book two (tentatively set for publication in April 2016) has a female mountain lion shifter as the heroine, and the third book a female jaguar shifter. What are your favorite shifters to read about? Which animal calls to you? Love shifters? Check out these posts! Kim Faust: Five Favorite Shifter Reads Kristen Strassel: Why We Love […]

Moon Justice by Ryanne Hawk 2
For today’s author interview, please welcome Ryanne Hawk, author of The Inked Menace Series, Aurelia Fridell Series, and Cordelia Kelly Series. She writes The Hot Lunch Series and random short fiction as author ER Pierce! If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Ryanne (or ER Pierce), please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Ryanne. Tell us about yourself. I write to escape being a mother to four children aged 5, 7, 9, and 11. I have seven tattoo’s, purple streaks in my hair, a love affair with yoga, and am addicted to caffeine laced smoothies in the morning. I am a procrastinator and I write when I’m overwhelmed with feelings, turning the swirling energy into prose. My family has a (rescue) dog, a cat, and a bunch of chickens running around the yard. Other than writing, what other life-long dreams do you have? Any plans to make them into reality? I’d like to become a Shaman Reiki Healer, and I’ve already taken steps in that direction. I’ve completed Reiki II (Usui/Holy Fire) and my next journey will be into Shaman Reiki I, and II. I enjoy going to drum circles, using essential oils and smudge sticks, and meditating. I have animal spirit guides (A hawk, Eagle, Fox, and a Skunk) If you could sit […]

Author Interview with Paranormal Romance Author Ryanne Hawk!

Well, Tami Lund wrote an article giving us her take on it. I’m sharing it here, with her permission for your reading pleasure. 🙂 Why Shapeshifters? November 15, 2015 Tami Lund Here’s a question: why shifters? I now have two series centered around shifters – the Twisted FateSeries (Of Love and Darkness was released in June, 2015, and Prim and Proper Fate will be released in 2016, followed by the final book in the series, in 2017) and the Lightbearer Series.Twisted Fate is entirely about shifters, while Lightbearer was supposed to be about magical beings called, well, Lightbearers. Yet when I threw shifters into the mix in that series, it became about them. How did that happen? The answer is simple: shifters are one of my favorite genres to read. So not coincidentally, I also happen to enjoy writing about them. They are sexy, strong, powerful, hot, did I mention sexy? In my reasonably extensive research, I have learned a few things about these seductive alpha beings. I’ve learned they all have one thing in common. All shape shifters have the ability to change from human form into…something else. And that, as far as I have been able to determine, is the single aspect that defines every shifter in every book I’ve ever read or written. Beyond that, well, every author interprets them a little differently. Which is the way it should be, right? We’re talking magic, and magic is defined by the imagination of the person writing it – and […]

Have You Ever Wondered Why Shapeshifters Are So Popular?

Elianne Adams
Better late than never! I was due to do the author interview this week, and totally lost track of time, and now it’s Friday. How does that happen? For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Elianne Adams, and I write sexy paranormal romance! Anyway, a few months back, a friend of mine *cough Elle Thorne*, asked me when I would be featured in an author interview. She hadn’t done one yet, so I told her I’d do one if she did. Of course, she did, and now it was my turn. Problem is, I’m the one who usually does the interviewing, so I needed some questions. My friends, being the helpful bunch that they are, came up with these ones. I hope you enjoy them. If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for me, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox.   Sylvina Storm asks: Have you ever based a character off of someone in real life? Which character? How are they different from their real life counterpart? To be perfectly honest, none of my characters have ever been based on someone in real life. Once I start writing, I get sucked into my imaginary worlds where men the characters are just as real to me as any person in real life. When […]

Author Interview with Elianne Adams

Author, Tabitha Cornall, tells her story on how she started writing paranormal romance, and how the crossing of genres influenced her writing. I found it pretty interesting, and thought you might too. Check it out! She posted her article on her website, here. Crossing Genres: The Ultimate Mash-Up I didn’t start out writing paranormal romance. I didn’t even start out writing romance at all–my very first story, back when I was seven, was science fiction. Since then, I’ve written science fiction, fantasy, Y/A, mystery, non-fiction, and of course romance, of several different flavors–paranormal, contemporary, historical, romantic suspense. I think it’s my love of all sorts of different genres that makes it absolutely impossible for me to resist trying to mash them up. Take my Colliding Worlds series, for instance. It’s paranormal romance, sure. It’s also got some of that medieval/fantastical/historical flavor to it in the castles and swords and lineages. But at it’s heart, the idea for Colliding Worlds is based on science–it’s an idea born from the Many Worlds theory of quantum physics, to be exact. My characters aren’t scientists, so when describing the “colliding worlds” they gloss over anything too technical, but that doesn’t change the fact that my entire paranormal romance series wouldn’t exist if I weren’t a science fiction geek. So I love genre mash-ups, and I’m not the only one. Crossing genres has become more and more popular in recent years, which is no doubt how paranormal romance finally managed to gain some ground (after […]

Twin Curse by Rinelle Grey 1
For today’s interview, I had the pleasure of speaking with Rinelle Grey, author of the Dragon Ruins series, A Baren Planet Romance series, and Twin Gems series. Just to give you all a heads up, each first story in the series are free, so grab your copies while you can! If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Rinelle, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first-hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Rinelle. Tell us about yourself. First up, I’m from Brisbane, Australia. I’ve lived around this area my whole life, and in fact, have only been out of my state a couple of times. I have travelled internationally once, to Japan, on a semi-business trip. If I had to pick one place to live though, this would probably be it. The weather is good, almost anything will grow, and while we complain about winter, it’s actually pretty mild. The one downside is that I’ve never seen snow! It did snow about 3 hours south of me this year, but by the time I heard about it, it was all melting! I grew up in an isolated area, doing school of distance, and living without electricity or running water. I wouldn’t change that either. I had a great childhood, and a pretty carefree one. That said, I love my […]

Interview with Author Rinelle Grey!

We often read or hear about the super hot Alpha Males. There are articles written about the super strong, decisive, all encompassing male written all over the place, but what we don’t often hear and read about is the amazing Alpha Female! She’s out there too, and deserves some recognition! I came across this article written by Heather Long, another great paranormal author, and thought I would share it with you guys. This is what she had to say… On Writing #Wolves : Best Alpha Females I can recite chapter and verse the number of “best” werewolf Alpha posts, of the best males or sexy heroes. Of course I can, I’m a romance author and paranormal romance is one of my favorite genres. In the best shifter books, we love the sexy growl of a male who is driven to protect his mate and his pack. We love their loyalty, their need to keep those around them safe and their power in defense of their world. I love a strong hero, but strong heroes need to be complemented by their powerful heroines so let’s talk about the best wolf females. Intelligence   The best wolf females are not only strong, they are intelligent. They know how to face off against the world and enhance their own personal best. While some wolf worlds are written as a man’s show, that they do all the fighting and the little women stay home and behave, the best wolf females aren’t competing in a […]

Andra Shine
Please help me welcome author, Andra Shine to PNR Lovers today. I hope you all enjoy reading this interview as I did. 🙂   Tell us about yourself. I’ve led an interesting life. My father was a punk rock DJ on the night shift, so I’ve slept in a lot of radio stations, and been to hundreds of gigs. He was also a pilot, so I’ve flown planes since I was five, but can’t land (which makes the teachers really nervous when you start a pilot’s license). I’ve got a second dan black belt in ninjitsu, and I’ve been in bands and in a poetry troupe. I’ve performed all over New Zealand, and in Indonesia’s Reader’s and Writer’s Festival. I’ve acted, been a dj, worked a camera and sound for news, and written news articles. Through all of this I’ve written. Most of what I’ve done has supported my writing, or has been about words, my greatest love.   Can you take us through what a typical writing day looks like for you? A typical writing day involves a lot of interruptions. Gone are the days when I could sit down to write and emerge a day later, desperate to pee and wondering why I’m so hungry. Now I have two children. So they wake me up and I get breakfast, and sit next to them typing away while they create chaos at the table. I pack one off to school, then the little one and I go to kindergarten, where […]

Interview with Author Andra Shine!

I came across this article written by a friend of mine, Kristen Strassel, and thought I’d share it with you all! What can I say, I adore Alphas, seriously, I melt every time I read a sexy PNR story with an Alpha hero!  This is what she had to say… WHY WE LOVE THE ALPHA nov 03 2015 | posted by kristenstrassel When romance readers are asked what they want in a hero, they overwhelmingly say that they want to read about someone who can get the job done, both out in the world and behind closed doors. An Alpha. Romance novels have come a long way from the bodice rippers of old, but the Alpha character, while he’s evolved from the rakish rogue, still prevails. A quick scan of the bestsellers list reveals Alphas in all forms: billionaires, rock stars, athletes, bikers, and characters that shape shift into predators. Why do we still love the Alpha so much? So we’ve totally got this. We shattered the glass ceiling, woman can go in combat, and there are women coaches in the NFL and NBA. There are two female candidates for president and no one bats an eyelash about it. We can be anything we want to be. But sometimes, it’s nice to sit back with a glass of wine and let someone else handle it. Alphas take chances and get things done. Fear isn’t in their vocabulary. Power respects power. Alphas like the concept of forever. Happily Ever After. In […]

Author Elizabeth Varlet 6
Today, I had the extreme pleasure of welcoming one of my favorite people on this planet, as well as a wonderful new author, Elizabeth Varlet, to PNR Lovers. I’m certain that if you read her story, you will fall in love with her writing, just as I have. If you have any questions, or would like to leave a comment, for Elizabeth, please feel free to do so. We love author/reader interaction here! And remember, to subscribe to our newsletter in the sidebar to the right to receive first hand news about special promotions and great deals in your inbox. Welcome to PNRLovers, Elizabeth. Please tell us a little about yourself. Okay, where to start? I’m originally from Upstate NY, but have been living in Europe for about 10 years now with my husband. We love to travel and have driven through most of the Western European countries during one trip or another. My favorite place, so far, is probably Prague, Czech Republic. Although Salamanca, Spain is a close second. I am an artist and have been painting in some form or another since I was a pre-teen. It’s the same for writing, whether it was poetry or short stories, if I didn’t have a paint brush in my hand, then I probably had a pen. Can you tell us a couple of random fun facts about you that we couldn’t find out by doing a Google search? I am a plan-a-holic. I’m addicted to my planner. I use the Erin […]

I was browsing the internet (not procrastinating at writing at all), and came across this article by Kim Faulks, and thought I’d share it with you. My five favourite Shifter Romance reads by Kim | Oct 21, 2015 | So I’m neck deep in my exciting new dark shifter series and out of the blue I thought of a few of my favourite shifter reads. Drop me a line, let me know what shifter book is in your must read bookshelf, or your kindle for that matter.
