Love Bites Redd ImageHappy Valentine’s Day, Cass. May the long stem roses I had delivered to your apartment brighten your day. You can never know they are from me.

You didn’t notice, but I was lost to you on day one. Your beautiful green eyes captured my soul the moment you looked at me. Every time I hear your voice and that adorable laugh, I fall for you just a little more. You are beautiful, smart, creative, and so out of my league. Even though we have the same group of friends, I keep my distance. Still, I watch over you, protect you, and all the while, no one suspects what you really mean to me.

I can’t say this to you in person. Truth is, I’m not good enough for you—not deserving of your love. My inner demons got the better of me and I’ve made mistakes, more than my fair share. Alcoholics Anonymous helps me keep them at bay, and I’ve been dry for two years now, but that doesn’t change the facts—I’m not worthy of you—never will be.

You won’t read this letter. I can’t bring myself to send it to you. Just know that I love you, Cass, more than you’ll ever know.

Love Bites Munro ImageKitten,

I thought the day you finally agreed to be my mate was the happiest day of my life.

I was wrong.

Seeing your smile when I enter a room or hearing you laugh or joke with my brothers brings me joy. Holding you in my arms each night and loving you, caressing the mark I left on your neck makes my heart beat faster. Just talking with you about mundane, everyday things makes me happy. Our house has become a home because of you.

Never once have you tried to tell me that my younger brothers should live elsewhere, even though their presence makes privacy difficult. No matter how much they tease us about holing up in our bedroom or making too much noise, you handle them with deft humor. You have taken my unruly brothers and charmed them as much as you have me. You cook for us, encourage us all to pull our weight around our home and show my brothers what a good marriage should be. You encourage and lead by example, and I love you for it.

As a single shifter, I thought I was happy. Again, so badly wrong in my assumptions.

Your presence in my life is a gift. I treasure you and love you more with each passing minute, each passing hour, each passing day. You have given me a sense of home and family, a purpose and direction, and love. So much love.

I want to give you this key—and no smart-arse—it is not the key to my heart. You’ve had that in your keeping since the night we met.

You love working at the café, and Charlotte says you’ve been running it singlehanded since she has been away so much recently. She came to me last week and we talked. The end result was I agreed to buy a half share in Storm in a Teacup and to buy out the other half over the course of the next five years. This is the key to the front door of the café. It’s all yours or it will be in five years.

Happy Valentine’s day, kitten.

With all my love.
